How We Rate

Every game gets a single Editor Score out of 10. It's a judgment call, not a formula, but it's anchored to four things we weigh on every game:

  • Question quality — are the questions accurate, well-written, and fairly difficult?
  • Variety & depth — how long before it starts repeating itself?
  • Fairness — how aggressive are the ads, timers, and in-app purchases?
  • Replay pull — the hardest to fake: do we actually want to open it again tomorrow?

A few promises about what our scores are not: we don't aggregate user star ratings and present them as our own, we don't take payment for placement or for a higher score, and we re-check games periodically because apps change.

Where a game has a trustworthy companion answers or help site, we link to it from that game's review — purely so you can look up the one clue you're stuck on instead of landing on an ad-stuffed clone. Those links are there to help readers, not to sell anything.
